Volunteers:The Volunteer Services Department at St. Joseph’s Wayne Hospital is comprised of more than 350 men, women and teens, who donate their time and talents to continuing the mission and vision of St. Joseph’s Wayne Hospital. St. Joseph’s Wayne Hospital Volunteers are individuals who live and work in Wayne and its surrounding communities. They represent a variety of diverse, personal and professional backgrounds. Volunteers consist of husband and wife teams, siblings, homemakers, retirees, career professionals, new residents, former patients and high school and college students.
On the Medical/Surgical Units, volunteers provide an invaluable service by feeding patients and providing support services to the clinical staff. They can also be found performing clerical duties in administrative offices including The Foundation and Medical Staff Office. Orientation and any necessary training are provided and volunteers have a choice of days and hours. A minimum of four hours is required and a free meal is provided during tour of duty.
Volunteering at St. Joseph’s Wayne Hospital affords individuals from age 13 to more than 90 years old the opportunity to learn new skills, make new friends and feel the sense of accomplishment that comes from reaching out to help others.
