Treasures
Abound in the SJW Thrift Shop:
Nordstrom’s, Bloomingdale’s and the
St. Joseph’s Wayne Hospital Thrift Shop… what do they have in common??
Designer dresses and shoes, leather handbags and crystal giftware are some
of the bargains frequently found in the SJWH Thrift Shop. Sponsored by the
Auxiliary, the Thrift Shop offers new and gently used clothing for men,
women and children as well as sporting goods, books, games/toys, ceramics
and housewares. New items are received daily so stock changes on a regular
basis.

“Very often we receive new items with the original price tags, ” commented
Ellen MacTaggart, one of the coordinators of the Thrift Shop. Recent finds
include several designer dresses and evening gowns by Jones of New York, Liz
Claiborne and Dana Buchman, a designer golf bag and stunning leather
sandals. “SJWH employees enjoy bargain hunting at the Thrift Shop,” added
Rosalind Rodano, co-coordinator. “It’s like shopping at the Mall with no
parking problems. And the best part is that all proceeds benefit St.
Joseph’s Wayne Hospital.” In the last year, proceeds from the Thrift Shop
exceeded $10,000.
Staffed by pleasant, helpful volunteers, the Thrift Shop is located on the
lower level opposite the Pharmacy. Summer hours are Tuesday, Thursday and
Friday from 10AM to 4 PM.
Donations of clean clothes, household
items, games and books are welcome. For further information, please call
Ellen MacTaggart or Rosalind Rodano at 973-956-3500.
